About

Shuyukh Gallery is a digital archive dedicated to preserving and sharing the portraits and biographical information of renowned Islamic scholars (shuyukh). Our mission is to create a comprehensive, accessible reference for students, researchers, and the wider community to learn about the figures who have shaped Islamic scholarship across centuries and continents.

We curate and present high-quality portraits alongside verified biographical data — including names, countries of origin, and historical context. Each entry is reviewed by our internal team to ensure accuracy and respectful presentation. The archive spans scholars from diverse regions and traditions, reflecting the global heritage of Islamic scholarship.

Browse and search the archive by scholar, country, or name, and save any portrait for personal use.

Make a quote card: lay a quote over a scholar's portrait, choose a template and typeface, and export a finished card.

Cut out and draw: lift the subject from its background, crop it, and finish the portrait as a graphite or ink drawing. Nothing you edit is uploaded — edited images stay on your device.

Accuracy: We strive to ensure all biographical information is correct and properly attributed.

Respect: Every scholar is presented with the dignity befitting their legacy. Content is reviewed for appropriateness.

Accessibility: The archive is free to access and designed to be usable by everyone, regardless of device or connection.

Privacy: We do not track users or collect personal data. See our Privacy Policy for details.
